The Epic Movement
Epic is a ministry that is forming on many campuses with a large population of Asian American students. Epic ministries seek to reach Asian Americans with the gospel of Jesus Christ by entering the context of this unique ethnicity.

Epic at Penn State
In fall 2007, 2200 Asian American students were enrolled at Penn State’s main campus (source: Penn State Fact Book). Asian Americans make up the largest ethnicity at the university after those who identify themselves as white (34,500). Thus there is a great need to reach this group of students with the Christian message.

Penn State’s Epic ministry is known as Asian American Christian Fellowship (AACF). AACF has existed at Penn State since 1992, originally founded by a few English-speaking students attending a local Korean church and advised by a Campus Crusade staff member. Today, AACF has seven staff members (including two interns) and roughly 100 student members.
Our mission is to introduce Penn State’s Asian Americans to Christianity through large- and small-scale presentations of the gospel; to build young and mature Christians in their faith through regular times of worship, Bible study, and discipleship; and to send Christ-centered laborers out from Penn State into the world, through missions or in the normal course of graduation to their next stages of life.
